Samsung Speaker Cleaner & Water Eject
Muffled sound on your Galaxy after rain, a spill or a swim? Press play below to push water out of the speaker grille. Works in Samsung Internet and Chrome, no app needed.
How to eject water from a Samsung Galaxy speaker
- Swipe down and turn off Do Not Disturb and Mute. Press volume up, tap the three dots and drag Media to maximum.
- Remove the case. Galaxy cases often cover the speaker slot partially.
- Hold the phone bottom-down, so the speaker grille faces the floor.
- Play Water Eject 2–3 times. On Galaxy S and Z models with stereo speakers, repeat with the top edge facing down to clear the earpiece.
- Leave it upright to dry before charging.
Galaxy models this works on
Galaxy S26, S25, S24, S23, S22, S21 and older; Galaxy A56, A55, A36, A35, A16, A15 and other A-series; Galaxy Z Fold and Z Flip; Galaxy Note; and Galaxy Tab tablets. Any Galaxy that can open a web page can use it.
“Moisture detected” when charging?
Samsung phones block wired charging when they sense liquid in the USB-C port. This is a protection feature — don’t try to bypass it. Wireless charging is fine if your phone supports it. Read our full guide: Samsung “Moisture detected” — how to fix it.
Does Galaxy have a built-in speaker cleaner?
Samsung doesn’t include a dedicated water-eject button. Some third-party Galaxy Store and Play Store apps offer one, but they play the same type of tone you get here. Samsung’s own advice after water exposure is to dry the phone with a soft cloth, shake out water from the openings and let it dry naturally.
Speaker muffled without water?
Galaxy bottom speakers sit next to the USB-C port, so pocket lint builds up quickly. Run the dust cleaner, then brush the grille with a soft dry toothbrush. Our existing Samsung Galaxy speaker cleaning guide covers grille care in detail.
Frequently asked questions
How do I get water out of my Samsung speaker?
Turn media volume to max, point the speaker down and play the 165 Hz water eject sound on this page 2–3 times. Then let the phone air-dry.
Why does my Samsung say moisture detected?
The USB-C port senses liquid, so charging is paused to prevent corrosion. Let the port dry for a few hours, or use wireless charging meanwhile.
Are Samsung phones waterproof?
Galaxy S and many A-series models are IP67 or IP68 water-resistant, not waterproof. Water can still get into the speaker mesh and muffle the sound.
